What We Believe
We are the London International Christian Church, part of a dynamic, worldwide movement of SoldOut Disciples with a bold vision: to evangelise the nations in this generation. Our mission is clear: to build a church filled with disciples who love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and who love one another just as Jesus loved us (Matthew 22:37-40; John 13:34-35). We are committed to leading the way by laying down our lives for one another and calling every disciple to be a dedicated servant in the body of Christ (1 John 3:16; Mark 10:43-45). We are here to reach our community, sharing our faith so that, through us, God can make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20), bringing them into a loving, serving, and maturing body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).
As Alexander Campbell, a leading figure in the Restoration Movement, said: “The church of Christ upon earth is essentially, intentionally, and constitutionally one.” We strive to embody this unity and purpose, united in our mission and driven by love.
WORSHIP
The primary function of the family of God is to be a worshipping community—both in attitude and lifestyle (Matthew 4:10; John 4:23-24; Romans 12:1-2). In our worship services, we seek to experience the presence of God, expressing honour, gratitude, awe, humility, and brokenness before Him. Our walk with God is not a Sunday ritual but a daily, consistent focus that fuels every aspect of our lives.
HOLINESS
From true worship flows a desire to be like God. Holiness is not just about avoiding sin; it is about developing a passion for God and a hunger for righteousness. God calls us to be separate, to show the world His holiness (Leviticus 11:45; 1 Thessalonians 4:7). As disciples, we believe that Jesus must be the Lord of our lives, shaping our actions and guiding our hearts.
Thomas Campbell, another Restoration leader, emphasised: “Where the Scriptures speak, we speak; where the Scriptures are silent, we are silent.” Our pursuit of holiness is rooted in the authority of Scripture, aligning our lives with God’s Word.
FAMILY
Christianity is not a solo journey; it is a “one-another” religion. We are the family of God, sharing a common faith, common blood, and a deep love for God and each other. We are committed to loving, forgiving, encouraging, serving, and laying down our lives for one another. We share our possessions, hearts, and lives, creating a family rooted in genuine connection (Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 5:13-26).
DISCIPLING
We are not just committed to baptising people into Christ (Acts 2:38; Ephesians 4:1-7); we are committed to growing, training, and equipping disciples for kingdom life (Ephesians 4:11-16). Discipling is an ongoing journey where we help one another grow through accountability, seeking and giving biblical advice, and engaging in collective prayer. As Walter Scott, a pioneer of the Restoration Movement, once said, “The whole scheme of the kingdom of God is discipleship.” We believe in empowering each disciple to grow and fulfil their God-given purpose.
SERVING
Our church is built on the biblical principle of ministering to the world’s hurts and needs. Jesus’ mission was to lay down His life for others (John 12:24-26). The servant heart of sacrifice—showing concern for others and a willingness to give up time and resources—is deeply rooted in both the Old and New Testaments. We lead by example, serving those around us to make a tangible impact.
EVANGELISM
We are committed to boldly proclaiming that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour (1 Peter 2:9-10; 1 Peter 3:15). Evangelism is personal, natural, and essential to our mission. We provide small groups and larger meetings to inspire and encourage a deep commitment to sharing the good news. As Barton W. Stone, a key figure in the Restoration Movement, once stated: “Let Christian unity be our polar star.” Our aim is to unify believers through the message of Christ and the power of evangelism.
BENEVOLENCE
We are dedicated to making a difference in our community and beyond. Jesus taught that His followers are the salt, light, and leaven in a world that needs to be uplifted (Matthew 5:13-16). We aim to influence our neighbours through marriage support, parenting classes, generosity, meals, adoptions, and caring for widows, orphans, the poor, and the sick. We do not just preach the Word; we live it, serving both locally and globally with the heart of Christ.
In the spirit of the Restoration Movement, we believe that “The Church is the visible expression of Christ in the world.” Our mission is to be that light—to love, serve, and transform lives as we evangelise and build a community that reflects the heart of God.
