Noray Restaurant

An extensive and varied breakfast buffet: fruit juice, fresh fruit, dairy products, cold cuts and an area for hot meals with dishes made to order. In summer it serves dinner and half-board meals. (only including dinner and not including drinks).

Saffron Mediterranean Bistrot

Fresh local ingredients are the basis of the Mediterranean cuisine that is ideal for informal lunches by the Meliá Sitges pool. In summer, guests can also enjoy a choice of delicious rice dishes and paellas.

1) What are the dates of the conference ?

The AMS / Single conference will take place from Wednesday the 30th of October to Thursday the 31st of October.

The EMC Conference will take place from Friday the 1st of November to Sunday the 3rd of November.

2) What will the average budget look like for an attendee?

3) Is Internet access included with the hotel room rate at the Melia hotel ?

Yes, wifi internet is included as part of your hotel room amenities.

You will receive instructions when you check in at the hotel on how to access the internet in your room.

4) Can I park my car near the hotel ?

The Melia hotel does NOT offer any shuttle services either to or from the Hotel.

We hope to be able to welcome you but as there is no Church yet, since we will be witnessing the historical implantation of the Barcelona church during the conference, we will not be able to greet every one and there won’t be rides provided.

Uber ride from the airport to the hotel : around €60

There are no direct trains from Barcelona Airport to Sitges.

Therefore, it is necessary to take the RENFE train R2 Nord from the airport and get off at the first stop called El Prat de Llobregat where you can catch the train to Sitges.

If you are arriving into Terminal 1 (T1) you will not be able to walk straight to the train station, as it is 4km away. You will need to take a shuttle bus from outside the terminal.

To find out the time of this train it is necessary to go to the local trains section of the RENFE website – Cercanías.

There are coaches that run directly from Barcelona Airport to Sitges.

The Bus Garraf runs from outside Terminal 1 (T1).

If your flight arrives at T2, you will need to get the free shuttle bus from T2 to T1.

For details of the times and ticket prices of the Bus Garraf Bus check the Bus Garraf Website. Go to the ‘Timetable Searcher’ and key in ‘Aeroport’ to ‘Sitges’. The times provided will be either for Monday – Friday, Saturdays, Sundays or Night time.

6) Will there be a Church leader workshop ?

No, there won’t be a church leader workshop.

7) When will childcare (Kids Kingdom) be provided ?

Kids Kingdom will ONLY be provided for Sunday Worship Service on November 3rd from 10 am to the end of the service.

8) How should I handle childcare ?

Childcare will need to be secure for other parts of the conference. It’s important to handle childcare/babysitting with people (whether family members of other disciples) who you trust, and have it organized for your child before the conference. Children are only allowed during Sunday’s worship service.

9) Is there a discounted rate for children at the banquet ?

There should not be any children coming to the banquet. Please make sure that you have a plan for your children at this time.

11) Will food be provided at the event ?

For those who are staying at the hotel, breakfast is

included. For those who are not staying at the hotel,

breakfast will not be provided at the event. The ticket price covers lunch daily (except Saturday), coffee daily and the banquet dinner on Saturday.

12) Can marrieds register as a couple ?

We are going through great lengths to make sure everyone has an easy registration process. However, it is necessary for marrieds to register individually with their own names as separate attendees.

13) Can I stay in a household ?

There are no households yet in the area. We encourage everyone during the conference to stay in the Melia Hotel Sitges. We suggest NOT to stay in Barcelona as it is very far from the Conference venue and expensive to take a taxi from there. However there are airbnbs in the Sitges area.

14) What is there to do near the hotel ?

Sitges is a beautiful old town filled with beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants and lots of shops. Although the beaches are very beautiful please be aware that not all the beaches are “family friendly, meaning clothing is optional.

14) Do I need a VISA to enter Spain ?

EU nationals do not need a VISA to enter the country for the conference. Citizens of the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand do not need a visa either. For those arriving from other countries, you may need a VISA. Check with your local Spanish embassy or on the Spanish government’s website : exteriores.gob.es

15) Are we able to receive a letter from the Church to apply for a VISA ?

Yes. What we need is for you to email us your full name as on your passport and the Embassy that you will be applying at. Please email Yannick and Sephora Tessany (email below).

15) What is there to do in Barcelona ?

We want to remind you that the conference is NOT happening in Barcelona. However, if you want to discover the city during a day OUTSIDE of the conference, here are some recommendations :

Lunchtime : many shops may close for the siesta, between 1pm and 5pm. Restaurants usually open around 7 to 8pm.

Monday many museums, public buildings and monuments are closed all day.

Personal security

Violent crime is rare in Spain but take particular care at markets, tourist sights and stations. Wear bags and cameras across your body, not on your shoulder. Be especially careful of pickpockets when getting on or off a crowded train or metro, and on the street in general.

HOW TO GET THERE?

By Train

Barcelona has 3 train stations that take you to Sitges by taking the R2 Sud Cercanías Line.

Instructions to get to Sitges by train from Barcelona

We will get on the train and take the R2 SUD line in the direction of Vilanova i la Geltrú or Sant Vicenç de Calders. The price of the ticket to go to Sitges by train from Barcelona is 4’20.- € and can be bought at the ticket offices or at the vending machines at the station. Once on the train, taking a seat on the left side of the train car will offer you beautiful views of the sea arriving at Garraf.

Trains, timetables and stops are well indicated on the information panels on the platforms of the train stations

Trains from Barcelona to Sitges run with high frequency from Estació de Sants and Passeig de Gracia from Monday to Friday. You can check the timetables and departures for trains from Barcelona to Sitges on the Rodalies of Catalunya train link.

Located at Avenida Marqués de l’Argentera, 1, next to the Ciutadella Park between the Barceloneta and Ribera neighborhoods (also known as the Born neighborhood)

2 – Barcelona- Passeig de Gràcia station / halt
The Passeig de Gràcia underground station (train and metro) is at the intersection with Aragó street, approximately between numbers 43 and 51 of the aforementioned Passeig de Gràcia, in the Eixample neighborhood

3 – Barcelona-Estació de Sants
Located in the Sants neighborhood (Plaça dels Països Catalans, s / n) it’s the main national and international long-distance train station.

By Bus

Bus from Barcelona to Sitges

The bus from Barcelona to Sitges wins users for its easy usability, comfort and wi-fi service. More and more users are taking the bus with a regular line operated by the BUSGARRAF company. Barcelona Sitges by bus is a 38 km route with a travel time of between 45 and 55 minutes depending on stops.

The bus service in Barcelona starts at Ronda Universidad, 33, between Calle Balmes and Plaza Catalunya. between Calle Balmes and Plaza Catalunya Sepúlveda street and nother one at Plaza España.

In Sitges, the main bus stop is in front of the Parc de Can Robert, en la Avenida Vilanova 14. It also has stops at Passeig de Vilanova 44, at Restaurante la Masia and at Càmping Sitges

Weekends have different schedules on working Saturdays from Sundays and holidays, the first bus leaves later than weekdays and there is less frequency of departures.

The price of the bus ticket is 4.10.- €, it can be bought on the same bus.

The bus from Barcelona to Sitges has a night service, but it varies depending on whether it is the winter season or the summer season, and depending on whether it is a business or holiday. We recommend consulting the BusGarraf website to check the schedules of the night bus line according to the date of travel, since it does not have as much frequency as the daytime line, nor as many stops, but a time range during the night that the train does not cover. This line covers the route from Barcelona, passing through the airport, Bellvitge, Sitges, Sant Pere de Ribes, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Canyelles, Olèrdola and Vilafranca del Penedès.

By Taxi

From Barcelona city:
From Barcelona, it is easy to find a taxi that provides the transport service to Sitges, although the price can be high compared to public transport (around € 75-85) and the cost of the motorway toll is charged separately. Barcelona taxis are black and yellow.

From Barcelona’s “El Prat” Airport
At Barcelona airport, at any main exit of Terminal 1 (T1) or Terminal 2 (T2) there is a taxi rank available to new arrivals. The cost is the one indicated on the meter plus the surcharges corresponding to luggage, the airport or port and highways (see rates inside the taxi). The cost can be between € 60-75 from T1 and € 65-80 from T2.

There are taxis 24 hours a day.

By Car

Private car

Going by car / motorcycle from Barcelona to Sitges is a 38 km journey with an average duration of 45 minutes, although at rush hour leaving Barcelona can slow down traffic.

The fastest and safest route is the C-32 Pau Casals highway (toll) towards Sitges, Tarragona, Exit 30. The toll for the Barcelona – Sitges highway in 2021 is € 3.31 for motor and € 6.89 for cars .

Helpful tips

If you have time, you can take the C-31 road, driving 18 km along the Costas road, which will guarantee you good views over the sea and the Garraf coast.

For motorcycle lovers, the route along the Costas del Garraf is highly recommended.
